A Cup of Hope

by K. Kylyra Ameringer

Some people like to wear rose coloured glasses

To help them see the world as alright

To me, it's all done up in shades of grey

I can see all the things that crawl out at night

Can you offer me a cup of hope today

'Cause I woke up and had nothing nice to say

I can't make these bad feelings go away

So can you offer me a cup of hope today

Hearing the news only makes me depressed

And I know hiding is no solution

Maybe I'm as faulted as all the rest

In this world there is no absolution

Can you offer me a cup of hope today

'Cause I woke up and had nothing nice to say

I can't make these bad feelings go away

So can you offer me a cup of hope today

Smile and the world smiles with you

At least that's what I've always been told

But how can I believe in fairy tales

When I've always found this world so cold

Can you offer me a cup of hope today

'Cause I woke up and had nothing nice to say

I can't make these bad feelings go away

So can you offer me a cup of hope today
