Noorderslag Weekend is an annual music industry event every January in Groningen, Netherlands. For three days professionals from all facets of the industry come to meet, network, and showcase the best and brightest in the EU music scene.
The festival is a well established one with a twenty-two year long history. Noorderslag began as a one day festival showcasing dutch music only and has grown to a three part event that incorporates Eurosonic, Noorderslag seminars, and Noorderslag.
Eurosonic/Noorderslag
Eurosonic is a two night event presenting over two hundred European acts in twenty-nine venues around Groningen. The music starts around 8 p.m. each night and doesn't stop until at least 3 a.m. Acts are rotated to give you the best opportunity to see as much as possible, but with so much going on it's impossible to see it all. With European booking agents, sixty ETEP festivals, the EBU, Yourope, IMMF and Network Europe all supporting the program, Eurosonic is one of the most extensive and progressive showcase festivals in Europe.
