The Lizard King

by K. Kylyra Ameringer

The Lizard King sits on his throne

He doesn't know he's all alone

His crown is crooked on his head

It's almost as if he's dead

Why does he wait?

Standing at the gate

Waiting for the time to come

When his work here will be done

Jump beyond into the black

Leaping forth, not coming back

Time is still and it begins

Originating in your sins

Why does he wait?

Standing at the gate

Waiting for the time to come

When his work here will be done

Breaking forth the wooden day

In his prison he will stay

Watch the nine worlds pass him by

Waiting for the herd to die

Why does he wait?

Standing at the gate

Waiting for the time to come

When his work here will be done

When his work will be done
