Thursday night - 70+ performances continued...

Artist: Green Hornet

Home: Netherlands

Venue/Time:
De Spieghel/01.15 - 02.00

Green Hornet rocked the audience hard at De Spieghel. This three piece band from the Netherlands incorporates strong organ riffs reminiscent of the late great 70's supergroups and their performance was so polished and professional even the wiring glitch on one of their microphones didn't spoil their memorable show. They've toured 12 countries and their forthcoming release So Much To Give on Excelsior is definitely one to look for. Find out more at www.greenhornet.nl.

Friday night - 80+ performances

Artist: Standard

Home: Spain

Venue/Time:
Vera/20.45 - 21.30

This six piece band (bass/vocals, 2 guitars, keyboards, drums, drums/percussion) from Spain hit the stage and impressed the audience with their intricate, danceable rhythms. Using their two percussionists and their keyboardist to lay down infectious beats, Standard blended rock guitar and punk based vocals to complete their sound. 'Of all the performances we saw, Standard looked like they were the happiest to be at Eurosonic. They gave 110% attitude, and managed to get the normally reserved Dutch audience to dance. My favourite moment was when their singer jumped into the audience and danced around the floor ... their energy was contagious.' (Kylyra) Check out their site at www.wearestandard.net.

Artist: Duke Special

Home: Ireland

Venue/Time:
Stadsschouwburg/21.25 - 22.10
