    General - height 60 cm, spread 45 cm, a perenial with a branched, carrot-shaped root. Medicinal plants are rare in the wild.
    Leaves - long-stalked, divided into 5 leaflets, upto 15 cm long
    Flowers - yellow-green, 5 petals, produced in umbels in spring
    Fruit - red berries with 2 seeds each

    Roots are lifted from 6-7 year old plants in autumn and used fresh or dried.
