Soothing Music

Soothing music lulls my soul to sleep,

Deep, too deep my mind can't bare,

To see the hypnotic face that stares,

At me through the blank reflection

Of the mirror.

I never meant for life to be this way

I hoped to change it all around

Instead I listen to the lulling sound

Of music from my youth now tainted

By my actions.

Soothing music turns up louder in my mind

As desperately I now seek to find,

Redemption for the years I wasted,

Forgiveness for the pain they've tasted

Due to me.

Soothing music makes the tears fall stronger,

Longer than they've ever done before,

As silently I close the door

Of my home, alone, I'll say goodbye -

Please daddy don't die.
