Dark World International at Eurosonic/Noorderslag 2008

Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland - 1 November 2007 - Dark World International will be participating as delegates in January 2008 at the Eurosonic/Noorderslag festival in Groningen, Netherlands. An annual event for over 20 years, Eurosonic/Noorderslag is one of the premiere European live music industry conventions, continually selling out in advance and attracting over 1800 music professionals last year. Radio stations across the EU carry live coverage of Eurosonic performances.

Dark World International President Kris Ameringer and Studio Manager J.A.Bohr will be attending the daytime seminars in de Oosterpoort convention hall. According to Kris Ameringer, "This will be our third year attending the seminars, and we're looking forward to it. The first year we went and returned with the information that led to our digital distribution deal with iTunes. The second year we went and returned with the information that led to our current marketing plan which has already resulted in a 100% increase in our website traffic with 75% of new visitors marking us as a favourite site. I can't imagine what this year will result in."

Last year Dark World International was one of only three participating delegates from Ireland at Eurosonic/Noorderslag. "It's sad to note how few Irish and U.K. delegates there are," according to Kris Ameringer. "We're constantly being approached by industry professionals and artists asking how they can break into the isles market. The European music community is very interested in getting over here, but lacks the contacts due to low festival participation."

While Dark World personnel are attending the daytime seminars, Dark World artists Kylyra and Tor from Deemed Psychotic will be attending the nighttime performances. According to Kylyra, "If you're really interested in what other acts are doing, Eurosonic is the place to be. For two nights over 25 venues within walking distance of each other host more than 150 performances from both member and non-member EU countries. There's also smaller performances in private homes that are open to the public. You can hear rock, dance, metal, folk and a host of other genres as well. You've also got a unique opportunity to network with bands from other countries."

Dark World International is proud to participate as delegates in January 2008 at the Eurosonic/Noorderslag festival in Groningen, Netherlands. An independent music label based in West Cork, Ireland, Dark World International has worldwide digital distribution on iTunes. Internet sales in the EU and across North America are pushing Dark World International to emerge as a noteworthy independent label.
