Kids Express - more than a phrase, a festival, or a competition.
There's an old saying that kids say the darnedest things. It's true - give them half a chance and they'll open up their mouths and minds and hit you with thoughtful insights, amazing statements, and cracking senses of humour.
Kids Express celebrates this wonderful aspect of kids in all its forms. Held in an all ages community hall, Kids Express includes performances by kids and performances just for kids by special guests.
The evening's entertainment focuses on the Kids Express International Poetry Competition. Open to all children of the world ages 8-12 and 13-17, this free competition is quickly gaining the interest and respect of parents, teachers, and kids alike world-wide. Three types of awards are given; the Judges' Choice Award, chosen anonymously by a panel of guest poets and on-line supporters; Ky's Choice Award, chosen by event host Kylyra; and Merit Awards, given for poetic technique usage and genre-specific poetry.
Kids Express salutes and congratulates all young poets, actors, dancers, singers, musicians, and artists of all kinds. Be a part of it! And hope to see you in 2012!
